BIOGRAPHY
Marilyn Powers, Ph.D., has been a psychologist and a researcher of human longevity and potential for the past 25 years. Her current practice is in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Powers' work as an "archetypal therapist" has led her on a worldwide study of religion, metaphysics and spiritual disciplines. She has also acted as a guide in a seven-stage process of soul development that she teaches in her workshops.
Powers' first book, The Bridge Between Two Lifetimes: A Midlife Map Shaping Our Future, was published on 1999. It is also available as a CD and with a workbook. Powers' goal as an author and teacher is to help the 80 million American baby boomers who are at or approaching the 50-year milestone to gain a panoramic perspective of where they are and where they are going.
Powers received her Ph.D. from Union Institute. Her research was on the therapeutic use of dreams and was conducted with cancer patients at Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati.
She also studied at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland, and the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland. She received her B.S. and M.A. at Columbia University, and studied dance at the Juilliard School in New York.
